Lavished Redemption

Passage: Ephesians 1:7-10

Speaker: Brian Land

Series: Ephesians

Category: Grace Brevard

Keywords: redemption, unity, saved, rescue, redeem

Art is filled with great rescue stories, from Forest Gump to Toy Story to Les Mis. The same is found throughout Scripture, but the Gospel takes it one very important step further into what is called Redemption. Redemption begins with Rescue, but it adds Restoration to the end of it. We aren't only saved from...we are saved FOR. We are bought out of our infinite sin-debt AND brought into the Family of God, restored back to our original place that sin stole from us.

Ephesians 1

7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
