John - Grace upon Grace

Passage: John 1:14-18

Speaker: Brian Land

Series: John: Come and See

Category: Grace Brevard

Keywords: love, mercy, hope, help, dark

It is easy to see the world, and our lives specifically, get swept away in a downward cyclone; pain upon pain; fear upon fear; fight upon fight; sin upon sin. What we are promised is that not only is there enough grace for yesterday, but there is enough for today. And to overwhelm us with his generosity, there’s even enough for tomorrow. He perpetually and personally heaps mercy, love and blessing on up, and then more on top of that, and then more on top of that. God doesn’t give us just enough grace to get our nose above water for a breath of air before we drown, he gives us enough to permanently resurrect us from the dead and seat us with Him in glory.

MESSAGE TITLE: Grace Upon Grace

CENTRAL TEXT:

John 1:14-18
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) 16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.
