Gospel Community

Passage: 1 Peter 4:8-10

Speaker: Brian Land

Series: GRACE DNA

Category: Grace Brevard

Keywords: care, community, hospitality, love, outward

God as Father, Son and Spirit is relational in his very essence. Being made in his image we are also designed to be in deep, caring, honest and perpetual relationships with one another as we serve, challenge, laugh, love, grow, confess and forgive each other. This by definition pushes us outward to “count others more significant than yourselves.” (Philippians 2:3)

LEADER:  Gracious Savior, You have created and supported us. Saved and kept us.

ALL:  May we live by and for You. Fixing our eyes on Jesus. Never satisfied with progress but as we resemble Christ.

LEADER:  May Your love constrain us to obedience. Move us to good works. Sustained by Your Spirit.

ALL: Renewed by your grace. Compelled by love with mercy for neighbors.

Sermon Title: Gospel Community

Central Text:  Romans 12:4-5 ESV

Response: Prayer of Confession (adapted from The Service for the Lord’s Day)

ALL: Merciful God,

We confess that we have not loved you with

our whole heart, mind, and strength

And have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.

In your great mercy,

forgive us,

renew us,

join us

lead us,

That we may delight in your will

walk in your ways;

find joy in your Word.

Through the finished work of Christ.

Amen
