Ephesians - Unimabinable Strength

Passage: Ephesians 3:20-21

Speaker: Brian Land

Series: Ephesians

Category: Grace Brevard

Keywords: power, strength, abide, weakness, indwell

During our constant life-struggles where we desperately try to either exert power or look for someone with power to help us, the Lord enters the fray with absolutely insurmountable power to not only bring us healing but, through Christ, bring us home.

Eph 3
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

What do you really want/need God’s Power for right now?

How is it that God not only can do far MORE than we can possibly ask, but do far BETTER?

What are examples in Scripture? What are examples in your life?

How is it that it take MUCH more power to change a heart than a physical problem?

How is the Cross and the Empty Grave the Ultimate Example of this?

This power isn’t just “out there” but it’s “according” to the Power within us....which means it’s the equivalent of the power at work within us. What does it mean that God’s power is at work WITHIN us?

What then does it mean that this same “resurrection power” is at work THROUGH us?

When have you seen that?

How have you seen that FOR YOU?

How have you seen that through YOU?

What is the ultimate application? Why does Paul want us to deeply “understand” this?
