Blessed in the Beloved

Passage: Ephesians 1:3-6

Speaker: Brian Land

Series: Ephesians

Category: Grace Brevard

Keywords: hope, security, blessing

We a complicated and far-too-small concept of what a "blessing is. We quickly go to good things happening in the here and now, which is true, but only a small part of the story. The foundation of "blessing" is that we have been, are and will be blessed in Christ through the adoption as his children. Our True Blessing is that we belong to Him and are eternally loved and secure. Out of this love God also blesses us in this world, but as more of an appetizer to the perfect and true Blessing.

Ephesians 3-10
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
