The rightful judgement of God has been so fully laid on His own son on the cross that we have been, by the indwelling power of the Spirit, transported from a fearful interaction with a holy God to a loving Sonship relationship with our Heavenly Father that frees us from slavery to our debts to Him and to this world, and freed to live loving lives as royal heirs with nothing to lose.

ALL: O Spirit of God

Give us faith to walk the separated life with firm and brave step.

Teach us to adore and magnify Christ with the music of heaven.

We do not crouch at Thy feet as a slave before a tyrant,

But exalt before Thee as a child with a Father.

Give us power to exercise sonship in all our actions.

Preserve us from the intoxication that comes with false prosperity;

Sober with the joy that comes solely from Thee.

Lead us ever onward in Your everlasting kingdom,

Working in us the beauty of Christ

Making known His grace to all.

    1. Give examples...fear, anxiety, stinginess, arrogance, insecurity, proving ourselves, looking down on others....
    2. Orphan vs. Adopted
  2. How do our Feral Behaviors actually begin with believing we are Feral people?
  3. Why and How is it that our realization of Jesus and the Cross gets greater over time?
  4. What is the difference between our sins being paid for and Christ’s Righteousness being given?
  5. How do we so often believe and behave as if we’ve been forgiven but need to build up our own righteousness?
  6. How would believing in an intimate ABBA FATHER that has given you full righteousness impact your heart and life?

QUOTES:

  • “Thou has formed us for thyself … And our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee.” - St. Augustine
  • “Since Christ fulfilled the Law, he – as the ‘firstborn’ Son – has won the entire estate by his victorious service to the crown; but, as established in the mutuality of the covenant of redemption (i.e. election), every adopted child has an equal share.” - Michael Horton
  • “He loved us not because we were lovable, but because He is Love.” – C.S. Lewis
  • “Orphans labor for favor and identity But a son begins from a place of acceptance” - Elias Tan
  • “Although claiming my true identity as a child of God, I still live as though the God to whom I am returning demands an explanation. I still think about his love as conditional and about home as a place I am not yet fully sure of.” - Henri J.M. Nouwen
  • “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything.” - Tim Keller
